How do you know what you don’t know? - Issue 41
A little bit of street photography while (recently) in Genoa, Italy
⚙ Operational notes
A relatively ‘normal’ week last week. Hopefully, this coming week is ‘normal’ too.
🌍 All Geographers
There is loads of geography in this clip which was recently shared during an engaging session at the Geographical Association Conference lead by 🔗 Denise Freeman and 🔗 Brendan Conway.
It reminds me of the ‘classic’ iOS game Flight Control which is no longer around - but 🔗 Planes Control! is a worthy clone.
🧑🎓 IB DP Geographers
I rather like this special series from npr - 🔗 Beyond the Poles: The far-reaching dangers of melting ice. Articles and audio all based around the impact of melting ice (glacial and sea ice) at their centre. Useful for 🔗 Unit 2 and 🔗 Extreme environments. I am sure that this series would also help with any discussions focused on possibilities, processes, power, place, and perspectives.
⬆ Updates
🙌 Another time through the IB DP Geography course
🔗 geographyalltheway.com hosts a complete IB DP Geography course including the 🔗 Freshwater, 🔗 Extreme environments and 🔗 Food and Health geographic themes. Seeing that the IB DP Geography exams are at the end of this week it means that I have journeyed through all the resources once more, polishing, reflecting, and evoling.
📣 Are you a ‘Whole School Subscription’ holder?
I want to offer ‘Whole School Subscription’ holders more support. If you are a ‘Whole School Subscription’ holder drop me a (very brief) email to start a discussion on what you need and what might be the best way to deliver it.
👓 Random
I like apps that bring order to the chaos. There is so much amazing and useful content being regularly shared on YouTube. However, YouTube’s way of doing channel subscriptions is choas. This is where 🔗 PocketTube comes in.
🔗 PocketTube is a browser extension that helps you organise your subscriptions into groups. This then helps you monitor groups for updates. Maybe you are in the mood to watch what is new in your ‘News and documentaries’ or ‘Food’ group. 🔗 PocketTube makes this easy. Check out the tutorial below for a fuller overview →
